Living Portraits is owned by Chris & Julia, a husband and wife team, living in Harrogate with 3 children and dog!
Chris – after graduating from Art College, Chris trained and worked in advertising and commercial photography. Building up his own client portfolio he was soon running and owning his own photographic studio in Leeds. Chris worked on many blue chip accounts and worked for clients throughout the country and travelled all around the world.
After time, Chris began to focus his creative skills on producing wall art images, which he produced and sold directly into the retail sector, with great success. He also started a business doing studio based portrait photography, mainly of children and families.
Chris soon realised that his experience with wall art, alongside his talent for portrait photography, could be combined to develop a bespoke service for animal portraiture. Working with animals and their owners in the great outdoors, to create stunning wall art to cherish, was his vision.
Living Portraits began about 3 1⁄2 years ago and it has gone from strength to strength ever since. People love their pets and there is nothing more pleasing than to hang a beautiful photograph of our faithful friends in our homes.
Julia – just over a year ago, Chris’s wife Julia, joined Chris in the business. Originally from an advertising and Design background, Julia also has admin and retail experience. Julia brings both her creative and organisational skills to the company, which have enabled Living Portraits to grow and develop into a smooth running and pro table business.
Julia helps out both on shoots and back at the of ce, the partnership works well and the exibility allows Julia to keep on top of things in the home – with 3 children and a dog it’s a fairly busy household!
We have now developed a simple and fool proof system, that can be taught to anyone who has either a keen interest or experience in photography, combined with good IT skills and of course a love of animals and the outdoors! We have made all the mistakes, so that you don’t have to. This business opportunity would be ideal for someone working alone or alternatively a couple/partnership, who can work together easily.
